No, you don't have to. You have the choice of submitting your 'Proof of Living' digitally or through the form.

Have the form stamped or signed by one of these authorities:

  • the mayor of your municipality;
  • an official of your municipality (Population or Civil Status);
  • the local police;
  • a notary public.

For some specific countries, you can also contact:

  • Bureau of Social Affairs (Suriname, Antilles);
  • Justice of the Peace (Australia, among others);
  • Commissioner for Oaths (Great Britain);
  • OCMW (Belgium).

Please note! Other agencies will not be accepted.

If the other organization is affiliated with the RNI (Non-Residents Registration) this is not necessary. Affiliated organizations include the SVB, UWV and Tax Office. The list of affiliated organizations can be found here.

If you have sent the ‘Life certificate’ to an organization that is not affiliated with the RNI, you can send a copy of that certificate to us. This will be accepted by us provided the certificate has been stamped/signed by an authorized body in the current year.

In that case you will not receive a request to send the ‘Life certificate’ in October.
